AHMEDABAD: The state government inked an Memorandum of Understanding for establishing a global level Gujarat- Special
Education Region (G-SER) at Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR).
The MOU were signed by ACS to chief minister and chairman of Dholera Industrial City Development Limited MK Das and
managing partner of Cerestra Managers Private Limited Jasmit Chhabra.
DSIR, a flagship project of the state government, is taking shape through various projects like Ahmedabad-Dholera
Expressway, Dholera International Airport and Bhimnath-Dholera Rail-line.
During the event, the CM said, “Dholera is the first Greenfield Industrial City which is being established to meet the
requirements of Industry4.0. The establishment of a Special Education Region will further accelerate its holistic development
and make Gujarat a pioneer in a Knowledge Driven Economy.”
The Cerestra Ventures is based in Hyderabad and focuses on education infrastructure, life science, real estate among others. It
has its offices in Mumbai, Bengaluru and other mega cities as well.
DSIR is spread in an area of 920 sq. meters wherein industrial infrastructure and its related eco-systems are being
development at the moment. In addition to that, facilities related to health, education and other services are also being
developed there.
The G-SER will be developed in an area of 1000 acres. Its area will be expandable up to 5000 acres to house university
districts, school districts and innovation districts in addition to accommodation for students, sports complex, etc.
The development of G-SER will also accelerate Gujarat’s development and provide direct and indirect employment to around
1.5 lakh people.
